MEET MIKE
Serving Knox County with Leadership and Dedication
Hi, I'm Mike Fisher.
I was raised in Oaktown, IN and graduated from Lincoln High School. Before law enforcement, I worked in the rodeo, broke horses, and spent time in construction—jobs that taught me the value of hard work, grit, and perseverance. Then, a friend encouraged me to volunteer as a reserve deputy, and that decision changed everything. What started as a way to serve quickly became my calling. From reserve deputy to jailer, road deputy, detective, and beyond, I’ve spent more than 20 years dedicated to protecting and serving the people of Knox County.
I’m running for Sheriff because this office is too important to be treated as a final stop at the end of a career. I’m not finished climbing the ladder—I still have the energy, drive, and vision to move our county forward. My goal is to lead with integrity, ensure accountability, and build a safer, stronger Knox County for every resident.
When I’m not in uniform, you can usually find me outdoors. I’m an avid hunter, enjoy blacksmithing, and take pride in staying connected to the land and traditions that make this county special. I also enjoy lending my time to fundraising efforts and community work, because giving back is just as important as serving in law enforcement. Knox County has given me so much, and I’m ready to give back in the most meaningful way I can—by serving as your Sheriff.
